Dala Support

Dala helps African diaspora savings circles (tontines) and community associations keep track of members, contributions, dues and meetings — so everyone can see their own record.

Common questions

I paid but it still shows as owed. Card payments clear right away. Bank payments can take a few business days; they show as "pending" until the bank confirms. If a cash payment is missing, ask your treasurer to record it.

I was invited but can't see my history. Sign in with the same phone number the association has for you — that is how your record finds you.

How do I mark myself present at a meeting? Open the meeting while it is running and tap Check in now. If the organiser pinned the place, the app confirms you are there.

What does connecting our bank account do? It lets Dala read the association's own transactions so a payment a member says they sent can be matched to the money arriving. It is read-only — Dala cannot move money — and the bank login is entered with Plaid, never with us. Plaid is only used for the association's account. Any officer can disconnect it in the app.

How do I delete my account? In the app, open Profile, tap Delete account and confirm. Your account and personal details (name, contact details, profile, photo and device tokens) are deleted straight away. If you run a circle or are the head or treasurer of an association, hand that role over (or close the circle) first; the app tells you if this applies.

Can't open the app? Email support@dalacommunity.com with the subject “Delete my Dala account” and the phone number or email you sign in with. We confirm it is you, then delete your account within 30 days.

Your association’s payment records are kept for its books, with your personal details removed.
